Zac O'Yeah is a Sweden-born author. He first landed in Delhi when he was 25! Young and ignorant, he kept getting lost sans the GPS and Wi-Fi. The experience- rich to the senses- made him return to India again. Soon, he kept on coming back and forth. At one point flying back to Sweden seemed unnecessary. Thus, he settled in Bengaluru- his Indian hometown. It is said by the author that he is a South Indian born in Sweden because of his bad Karma.

Pulled back by the chaos and delight that India is, his rewards of adventures and misadventures are plenty. Recalling one of his memorable and finest moments chatting with R K Narayan, he has in fact penned a trilogy, Mr. Majestic. Set in Bengaluru, he states detective and crime fiction is one of the biggest industries in Sweden and there was none with Bengaluru as its setting. So, he created a protagonist who navigates Bengaluru's underbelly to wipe out crime and thugs. Besides his detective bestseller, he has penned a biography, Mahatma!. His travel writings have been published in magazines like National Geographic, Traveller and others. Writing for several newspapers, he has also founded a semi-professional writing school in Bengaluru.

Mountains, wilderness, cultural and literary explorations and gourmet sensations are poured into  'Digesting India'. A collection of eight essays, the travel writer and author delves deeper into India's culinary tradition. With his experiences, the essays become a pie chart of memoirs, and travelogue supplemented with historical and literary references. The book offers no dearth of encounters that are bland. In fact, after several dashes to the toilet facility, the book begins with indigestion. The hardened traveller is a connoisseur of shoddy food joint out of adventure. Unbranded, cheap beer- he has tasted all that long-term citizens don't even know about.

Everyone wants to visit landmarks where their favourite writer once stepped foot. While reading this book, you will want to visit those very places, eat those delicacies and enjoy a bit of culture thrown into every street and elite dwelling.
